United States President Donald Trump is meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington for the fourth time this year, as a new plan for Gaza’s future is discussed. Trump has promised what he called “something special” for the Middle East and has repeatedly said it is time to end the war.
According to reports, the proposal includes the release of all remaining captives in Gaza, an amnesty offer for Hamas fighters who renounce resistance, a gradual Israeli withdrawal, and increased humanitarian aid. Some Palestinian prisoners could also be released from Israeli jails. Hamas said it had not received the plan through official mediators but would consider any new proposal.

The plan is said to leave open the possibility of a future Palestinian state, a point opposed by far-right members of Netanyahu’s coalition, including Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
