The Federal Government has cancelled the parade planned to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary on Wednesday, 1 October 2025. The announcement was made in a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
No reason was given for the decision, though officials stressed that the cancellation would not lessen the importance of the milestone. The government also expressed regret over any inconvenience the move may cause.
