The Nigerian equities market began the week in positive territory as investors recorded a gain of ₦155 billion on Monday. Market capitalisation rose to ₦90.1 trillion from ₦89.9 trillion on Friday, representing a 0.17% increase, while the All-Share Index closed at 142,377.56 points.
The uplift was driven by strong demand in stocks such as Skye Shelter Fund, Thomas Wyatt Nigeria, Livingtrust Mortgage Bank and Eterna. Despite this, market breadth ended negative with 36 decliners against 25 gainers. AXA Mansard Insurance, University Press, and Julius Berger were among the worst performers, while Skye Shelter Fund and Thomas Wyatt led the advancers’ table.
