AS Monaco’s teenage striker George Ilenikhena is emerging as one of Europe’s brightest prospects, with leading clubs in Germany, Spain and Italy monitoring his progress. At just 19, the Nigerian has already delivered decisive goals against Barcelona in the Champions League, first with Royal Antwerp and more recently in Monaco colours.

Reports suggest Bayer Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Villarreal and Roma are among those tracking the forward, whose value is currently estimated at €15 million. Despite his reputation, Monaco have used him sparingly in Ligue 1, preferring to develop him gradually while holding him under contract until 2029.
Born in Lagos and raised in France, Ilenikhena’s rise from Amiens to Antwerp and now Monaco has been rapid. Strong, quick and left-footed, he is seen as a modern centre-forward, and his growing profile may soon force Monaco into a decision on his future.
