President Bola Tinubu has mourned the death of Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, a news anchor and producer with Arise Television, who was killed during an armed robbery at her home in the Katampe district of Abuja on Sunday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Maduagwu as a promising journalist whose life was “cut short in a cruel and condemnable manner.” He extended condolences to her family and colleagues.

President Tinubu directed security and law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation, stressing that the perpetrators must be apprehended and brought to justice without delay.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security measures across the country, assuring citizens that government will continue working to ensure their safety.
