FG Declares Dangote Refinery a National Priority

Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Prices to ₦875–₦905

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the success of the 650,000-barrel-per-day Dangote Refinery, describing it as a critical national asset that must be supported to thrive. Vice President Kashim Shettima made the remarks at the opening of the Nigerian Economic Summit 2025 in Abuja, alongside the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu.

The $20 billion refinery, seen as central to Nigeria’s energy and economic stability, has recently faced challenges following industrial action by oil workers under PENGASSAN.

Vice President Shettima urged restraint from both labour unions and the private sector, stressing that national interest must come before individual or group concerns. He described industrial harmony as vital to sustaining economic progress, noting that Nigeria’s treatment of major investors like Dangote would influence global perceptions of its business environment.
