Professor Mahmood Yakubu has temporarily handed over leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission to May Agbamuche, the commission’s longest-serving National Commissioner.

The handover took place during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja. Yakubu urged officials to support Agbamuche pending the appointment of a substantive chairman.
