Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, and the Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, have staged a protest at the University of Abuja’s main campus. The demonstration forms part of a nationwide action declared by the Joint Action Committee of both unions after a two-week ultimatum to the Federal Government expired.
The workers are demanding the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement with the government, immediate payment of a 25–35 percent salary increase, and settlement of all withheld wages.
