The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has announced plans to remake one of Nigeria’s most cherished television dramas, ‘Cock Crow at Dawn’, in partnership with Natives Filmworks and Innovative Television Kontent, ITK. The project will feature 104 new episodes, with filming set to begin in Jos, Plateau State, in 2026.
NTA’s Director-General, Salihu Dembos, said the revival aligns with renewed national interest in agriculture and community development — themes central to the original series.

Executive Director of Programmes, Tari Taylaur, described the remake as part of NTA’s broader effort to reintroduce classic programming to new audiences, while producers Steve Gukas and Dimbo Atiya said the project reflects the evolution of Nigeria’s television industry, blending nostalgia with modern production standards.
