Nigeria will face Lesotho on Friday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa, in a must-win encounter as the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers enter their final stage. Kick-off is at 6pm.
Lesotho sit second from the bottom in Group C with nine points after eight games, having suffered heavy defeats to South Africa and Benin in September. Despite slim hopes, victory could see them leapfrog Nigeria.

The Super Eagles, third with 11 points and superior goal difference over Rwanda, must win their remaining matches and hope group leaders Benin and South Africa falter. With just two wins from eight games, Nigeria’s consistency in defence has kept qualification hopes alive — but nothing short of perfection will do from here.
