Benin Cheetahs manager Gernot Rohr has urged his players to remain composed and embrace the occasion as they travel to Uyo on Tuesday to face Nigeria in a decisive World Cup qualifier. The Cheetahs top Group C with 17 points and can secure qualification with a victory, regardless of the South Africa–Rwanda result.
Rohr acknowledged the challenge of winning in Nigeria, a feat Benin has never achieved, but stressed that past experiences on the road, including Afcon qualification in Libya, have prepared the team for high-pressure environments. He also highlighted an imbalance in fixtures favouring South Africa, underscoring the Cheetahs’ resilience in away matches.
