The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources in partnership with Carex, has taken its hand hygiene campaign to schools across the state to mark this year’s Global Handwashing Day. With the 2025 theme ‘Be a Handwash Hero,’ the initiative aims to teach pupils that handwashing is a simple act that saves lives.
Teams from Carex and the ministry visited primary and secondary schools, engaging students through songs, demonstrations, and interactive lessons on the 20-second handwashing technique. Many pupils pledged to become “handwashing heroes” in their communities.
