Thirteen people, including five teenagers, have been killed in attacks on Rachas and Faan communities in Hyeipang District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. The assailants reportedly invaded the villages in the early hours of Tuesday, shooting sporadically while residents were asleep.
Brigadier General Shippi Gakji (rtd), Special Adviser on Security to Governor Caleb Mutfwang and commander of Operation Rainbow, confirmed the incident, describing the killings as tragic. He said the government was working to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice for the victims.

While the government continues to face pressure to restore peace and protect vulnerable communities from recurring assaults, a recent report by the Plateau State Fact-Finding Committee on Violence revealed that over 11,000 people have been killed in violent attacks across the state since 2001.
