Over 650 Ships Lift Products from Dangote Refinery as Nigeria Emerges Regional Export Leader

Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Price to N899.50 per Litre for Festive Relief

The Dangote Refinery says more than 650 international ships have lifted petroleum products from its terminal in less than a year, reaching markets across Europe and Asia. Captain Rana, the refinery’s Head of Marine, described the figure as an exceptional turnover for a new facility, adding that over 120 kilometres of pipelines lie beneath the seabed to support exports.

Rana said many vessels remain offshore due to shallow coastal waters, remarking that Nigeria’s “true independence” began when it started refining its own fuel.

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri, who joined a delegation to the refinery, said the facility has transformed Nigeria from Africa’s largest petrol importer to West Africa’s leading exporter. He urged Nigerians to support local production, noting that increased exports strengthen the naira and drive sustainable economic growth.
