Hamas has accused Israel of committing war crimes after some of the 150 Palestinian bodies returned to Gaza showed signs of torture and abuse. The group said several victims were handcuffed, blindfolded, or bore marks of strangulation, alleging they were executed while in Israeli custody. Most of the bodies remain unidentified, with Hamas calling for DNA testing equipment to assist in the process.
The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed that only 25 of the returned bodies have been identified, saying many displayed evidence of beatings and mistreatment. Hamas also appealed for heavy machinery to recover more bodies trapped under rubble.
