Nigeria’s Super Falcons have sealed qualification for the next Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after a 1–1 draw with the Republic of Benin at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. Ashleigh Plumptre opened her account for Nigeria with a towering first-half header from an Esther Okoronkwo corner, giving the reigning champions a deserved early lead.
The Falcons controlled possession and tempo for much of the game, but Benin struck back ten minutes from time, beating Chiamaka Nnadozie to level the score. Despite late pressure, Nigeria stood firm to protect their aggregate advantage.
