Newly confirmed Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has pledged to build a disciplined, versatile, and “professionally lethal” Nigerian Air Force capable of keeping insurgents on the run. Speaking before the National Assembly on Wednesday, AVM Aneke said true power lies not in brute force but in intellect, adaptability, and precision.
He outlined a leadership vision anchored on training, technology, safety, and strategic innovation, promising a force that “responds swiftly, strikes precisely, and acts intelligently.” Lawmakers praised his experience, citing his achievements in air mobility and counter-insurgency operations.

Nominated by President Bola Tinubu and confirmed by Parliament, Aneke succeeds Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar. A graduate of the US Air War College, he brings over 4,300 flight hours and a reputation for strategic excellence.
