Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has officially retired from the Nigerian military, saying he is leaving with a clear conscience after decades of service. General Musa made the remark at his pull-out parade in Abuja, where he was succeeded by General Olufemi Oluyede.
He thanked President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and described his tenure as one marked by dedication and loyalty to the country. General Musa said he would continue to serve Nigeria in any capacity, adding that though retired, he remains a soldier at heart.
The former defence chief urged Nigerians to support the armed forces in the fight against insecurity, stressing that no single institution can win the war alone. He called for greater synergy among security agencies and encouraged citizens to continue praying for the nation’s troops.
