Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to demonstrate genuine transparency as Anambra State prepares for its governorship election next weekend. He said the November 8 poll presents an opportunity for INEC to rebuild public trust and strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.
Mr Atiku, who described the election as a chance to end years of poor governance in Anambra, accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of what he called a ‘habit of stealing the people’s mandate.’ He encouraged voters to back the African Democratic Congress candidates, Nwosu Chima John and Nwobu Geoffrey Ndubisi, describing them as capable of restoring prosperity and stability.
