Super Eagles Step Up Training in Morocco as 18 Players Arrive for Gabon Clash

Eighteen Super Eagles players are now in camp in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup play-off against Gabon on Thursday evening. The squad opened camp on Sunday, with head coach Eric Chelle leading an intensive training session on Monday.

Captain William Troost-Ekong, Calvin Bassey, and Benjamin Fredrick featured prominently in the session alongside Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali. Others include Moses Simon, Tolu Arokodare, Chidozie Awaziem, and Chidera Ejuke.

Three more players are expected before the team’s final tactical drills. The Super Eagles are hoping for a decisive performance to secure a place in the final round of the African play-offs, as the race for the 2026 World Cup tightens across the continent.
