The Coalition of Federal Pensioners of Nigeria has issued a warning of a nationwide naked protest on November 24 if the government fails to pay outstanding pension increment arrears and palliative allowances.
The head of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NIPOST Chapter, Mukaila Ogunbote, who also doubles as the National Chairman of the coalition, made the announcement at a Lagos news conference on Tuesday.
Pensioners are demanding the N32,000 approved pension increment arrears and N25,000 palliative allowance, long promised since 2023.

Mr. Ogunbote warned that retirees in the diaspora would join, turning the protest into a global demonstration. He urged President Bola Tinubu to direct the Finance Minister and Accountant-General to release the funds, highlighting the hardship and poor living conditions many pensioners endure.
The coalition criticised the Nigeria Labour Congress for insufficient support, insisting urgent action is needed ahead of the Christmas season.
