The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, has commended the Mining Marshals for effectively securing the country’s mining sector and tackling illegal operations. Speaking at the Nigerian Defence College in Abuja, Mr. Alake said the Marshals had reclaimed 90 sites, prosecuted over 300 offenders, and are now poised to expand operations nationwide with improved logistics and weaponry.
He noted a surge in sector revenue — from ₦6 billion in 2022 to ₦26 billion by October 2025 — following stricter enforcement of mining regulations and revocation of 3,700 dormant titles.
