Lagos to Divert Traffic on Lekki-Ajah Road for Eight Months

The Lagos State Government has announced an eight-month traffic diversion on the Lekki-Ajah corridor to allow for road rehabilitation. The works are scheduled to begin on November 15, 2025, and conclude on July 15, 2026, the state’s Ministry of Transportation said.

According to Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the repair works will be carried out in two phases to reduce traffic disruptions. Phase one will cover the stretch from Lekki 1st Toll Gate to Lekki 2nd Toll Gate, while phase two will run from Lekki 2nd Toll Gate to Ajah underbridge.

During the rehabilitation, one lane will remain open while the other undergoes repair, with work shifting between lanes as sections are completed. Motorists travelling towards Lekki or Ajah will have continuous movement despite partial closures in certain sections.
