Victor Osimhen struck twice in extra time as Nigeria defeated Gabon 4–1 in the 2026 World Cup qualifying semi-final in Rabat. The Super Eagles, who conceded a late equaliser in regular time, regained the lead through substitute Chidera Ejuke in the 97th minute before Osimhen’s double sealed victory.
Akor Adams had earlier put Nigeria ahead in the 78th minute, only for Mario Lemina to level for Gabon ten minutes later. Osimhen, who missed a clear chance late in normal time, redeemed himself with two expertly taken finishes past goalkeeper Loyce Mbaba.
