Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest Three in Ebonyi Crackdown

Police in Ebonyi State have rescued a kidnap victim and arrested three suspects believed to be behind recent attacks in the Ezzangbo area of Ohaukwu Local Government. 

According to the Command spokesperson, Joshua Ukandu, the gang abducted one Obasi ThankGod on 13 November, tied him up, and left him inside a hotel toilet while demanding a ₦5 million ransom. Intelligence-led tracking enabled officers to locate the hideout, free the victim, and arrest three suspects now in custody.

In a separate incident, officers on patrol along the Ehamufu–Nkalagu Road responded to gunshots and found a man being attacked by armed robbers attempting to seize his motorcycle. One suspect was killed during the exchange, and an AK-47 rifle with ten rounds was recovered.

The Commissioner of Police, Adaku Uche-Anya, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding residents.
