The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the naira-for-crude oil policy has issued a seven-day deadline to government ministries, departments and agencies to submit requested documents or face sanctions. The warning followed what lawmakers described as widespread non-compliance by invited agencies, many of which failed to appear before the panel with required records.
Committee Chairman Boniface Emerengwa said the lack of cooperation had forced the postponement of an investigative hearing earlier scheduled for 20 November, insisting the delays were undermining scrutiny of a policy central to Nigeria’s economic stability. He stressed that transparency and accountability were non-negotiable, extending the document-submission deadline to 27 November.

The hearing will now be held on 2 December, with the committee warning it will invoke full legislative powers against any agency that ignores the new directive.
