Musawa Says Art and Culture Essential to Stronger Public Institutions

Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, says the country’s public sector can only achieve true excellence by integrating art and culture into governance. She made the remarks at the 4th Legislative Mentorship Initiative in Abuja, where future public leaders gathered to discuss innovation in public service.

Musawa argued that Nigeria’s creative industries—from music and film to crafts and heritage tourism—remain powerful tools for national unity, economic diversification and job creation. She said valuing creativity helps produce more culturally aware and adaptive public servants.
