The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 26 suspects in Lekki’s Eti-Osa area for alleged involvement in counterfeit currency and the production of adulterated diesel known locally as “rice and beans.” Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi said the arrests followed a joint operation with Kick Against Indiscipline officials on Wednesday. Officers recovered ₦951,300 in fake notes during the 1:30 p.m. raid.
Four suspects were identified as alleged producers and distributors of adulterated diesel and engine oil, while two others reportedly supplied the illegal products to motorists across the area.
