President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the Senate for swiftly confirming General Christopher Musa (rtd) as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence. In a post on his X handle, the President described Musa as a fine gentleman whose experience comes at a defining moment for the country. He noted that he forwarded Musa’s name for screening just two days earlier.
General Musa, the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, is expected to bring operational insight and continuity to the Defence Ministry as the administration strengthens national security and confronts emerging threats. Tinubu said Musa’s record in navigating Nigeria’s complex security landscape makes him well-suited for the role.
