President Tinubu has directed the National Economic Council (NEC) to identify grazing reserves that can be converted into ranches across the country. The announcement was made at the FEC session in Abuja on Wednesday.
The President tasked Vice-President Kashim Shettima to lead the NEC in determining which grazing areas can be rehabilitated into ranches or livestock settlements.
The goal is to formalise livestock management, improve security around farms, and reduce clashes over land use.

State governors were urged to cooperate, since control of land lies with states under the constitution. Federal support will be provided to rehabilitate viable grazing reserves. Authorities say the initiative aims to transform volatile grazing corridors into structured, peaceful economic assets.
