Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has pledged continued support for the Nigerian Army in carrying out its constitutional duty of safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity. He spoke on Monday at the 2025 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference held in Lagos.
Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the army for its efforts in maintaining national security, saying Nigerians recognise and value the sacrifices of officers and men of the force. He urged participants at the conference to engage with openness and constructive dialogue.
The conference was attended by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa retired, and other service chiefs. Governor Sanwo-Olu was received at the venue by senior military officials.

The conference is themed Examining the Current Landscape of Terrorism Through the Lenses of Diplomatic and Military Action Strategy for Long-term Prevention and Stabilisation, and is focused on strengthening responses to security challenges across the country.
