A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Gwarinpa has ordered a former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, to remain on the administrative bail earlier granted to him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Justice Mariam Hassan ruled that Mr Ngige must provide a surety who is a director in Federal Government employment and owns landed property. The court directed that the surety deposit property documents and travel papers pending the retrieval of Mr Ngige’s passport.
Mr Ngige was granted bail by the EFCC on self recognition, with conditions including the submission of his travel documents and the provision of one surety. He was earlier remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
