The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has announced comprehensive changes to training and operations across the Nigerian Army. The announcement followed the closing session of the Army’s Annual Conference in Lagos.
Shaibu said the reforms are designed to strengthen the Army’s capacity to respond to evolving security threats and improve operational effectiveness.
The programme includes restructuring training curricula in Army schools, focusing on mission-specific instruction, and enhancing intelligence and technology capabilities.

Officials also said the Army will prioritise logistics, administrative reforms, and welfare projects to ensure troops are better prepared for national security duties.
