International Criminal Court Pushes Back Against U.S. Sanctions

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has criticised recent U.S. sanctions on two of its judges as a “flagrant attack” on judicial independence. The court made the comments in a statement on Thursday.

The sanctions were imposed on judges involved in cases related to alleged war crimes without the consent of the United States or Israel.

The ICC said such measures undermine the rule of law and threaten the integrity of international justice.

The court reaffirmed its commitment to operate independently under its founding statute despite external pressures.
