Shares in Seplat Energy Plc rose by more than 10 percent on the London Stock Exchange after confirmation that Heirs Holdings completed the purchase of a 20% stake in the company.
The share price movement reflected strong demand from both local and international investors.
Seplat is a leading Nigerian energy company involved in oil and gas exploration, production and distribution. The company said the acquisition deal aligns with its long-term business strategy and growth ambitions.

Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Energies, described the deal as a long-term investment in Nigeria’s and Africa’s energy future.
