Three startups have emerged winners at the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Lagos Innovate Idea Hub 12.0, after beating more than 1,000 competitors in an eight-week innovation and mentorship programme aimed at strengthening the state’s tech ecosystem.
Out of thousands of applicants, 20 startups were selected for the Idea Hub, with six finalists pitching on Demo Day before judges assessed their ideas based on scale, resilience and economic impact. Cubeseed Africa won the top prize for its agri-tech platform linking livestock farmers directly to bulk buyers, ensuring instant payment for farmers and reliable protein supply for businesses.
The second-place winner, Lena, is an education technology startup using artificial intelligence-powered games to deliver curriculum-based learning in maths, literacy and science, with a mobile-first and offline-friendly design. Prodevs placed third, offering a human resources technology solution that streamlines the recruitment of software developers for growing companies.

Speaking at the event, an LSETF representative, Ifeoluwa Martins, said the programme demonstrated the depth of innovation in Lagos and reflected the state government’s strategy for job creation and economic growth. The organisers said the winning startups would receive continued support to help scale their businesses and create employment.
