Celebrity fashion entrepreneur Toyin Lawani has accused Euracare Hospital in Lagos of medical negligence, alleging that poor treatment left her with long-term health complications and led to the loss of a pregnancy.
In a series of social media posts, Lawani said her ordeal began after undergoing a spine surgery implant at the private hospital, which she claimed resulted in severe complications, including lung damage, impaired speech, and temporary loss of the use of her legs. She said she underwent multiple emergency surgeries and spent months in the hospital and rehabilitation.
Lawani alleged that despite spending close to one hundred million naira on medical bills, her condition worsened due to what she described as inadequate post-operative care. She said she was eventually airlifted to the United Kingdom, where doctors discovered serious lung infections and carried out further surgery.

Her claims come hours after writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie reportedly served Euracare Hospital a legal notice over alleged negligence linked to the death of her young son. Lawani said she intends to pursue legal action against the hospital once she is fully recovered.
