The Federal Government has hired a United States based lobbying firm under a nine-million-dollar contract to help communicate its efforts at protecting Christian communities in Nigeria to the US government. The agreement is contained in a lobbying contract filed with the US Department of Justice.
According to the document, Aster Legal, a law firm based in Kaduna State, engaged DCI Group on behalf of Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. The contract was signed on December seventeenth, twenty twenty five, by Oyetunji Olalekan Teslim, managing partner of Aster Legal, and Justin Peterson, managing member of DCI Group.
Under the agreement, DCI Group is expected to assist the Nigerian government in presenting its actions to protect Christian communities and in sustaining US support for countering jihadist groups and other security threats in West Africa. The contract runs for six months until June thirtieth, twenty twenty six, with provision for automatic renewal, and allows either party to terminate with sixty days’ written notice.

The contract shows that Nigeria paid four point five million dollars on December twelfth as a six month retainer, with a monthly fee of seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars. The engagement comes amid heightened interest by the US government over reports of killings of Christians in Nigeria, claims which the Nigerian government has repeatedly denied while pledging continued diplomatic engagement with Washington.
