I Struggled with Self Acceptance After Childbirth, says Tiwa Savage

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has revealed that she struggled emotionally after giving birth to her son, saying she initially felt motherhood damaged her career. She spoke in an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, monitored by Radio Now’s Newsdesk.

The singer said she had always wanted a daughter and found it difficult to bond with her son for the first two years, admitting she cried when she was told the baby was a boy. Savage said changes to her body after childbirth affected her confidence and professional opportunities.

Tiwa Savage disclosed that she lost a brand endorsement at the time because of how pregnancy affected her appearance, leaving her feeling that motherhood had set her back. She said she later came to terms with the experience and now considers her son her closest companion.
