More than 30 people have been killed in a road accident involving a trailer at Kwanar Barde in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, local officials said. The crash occurred early on Sunday as the vehicle was travelling towards Gujungu, with many other passengers seriously injured.
The Kano State Government spokesperson, while confirming that the injured are receiving treatment in hospitals across the state, said the trailer lost control, reportedly due to reckless driving, leading to multiple fatalities.Â

Governor Abba Yusuf expressed sorrow over the incident in a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, and ordered the Ministry of Health to provide free medical care for victims. He also directed the Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs to support affected families and urged motorists, especially heavy-duty vehicle drivers, to obey traffic regulations.
