The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has commended the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services and other security agencies for what he described as major successes against bandits in Mariga Local Government Area and parts of the Niger North senatorial district.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Assembly’s Directorate of Media and Public Relations, the Speaker said the operations led to the killing of several bandits and the arrest of others, describing the outcome as a breakthrough in the fight against insecurity. He said the actions had weakened criminal networks and helped restore confidence among residents who had lived in fear.

Mr Sarkin-Daji praised the bravery and professionalism of security personnel, acknowledging the risks involved in such operations. He assured the agencies of the continued support and cooperation of the Niger State Government, saying authorities would provide necessary assistance to strengthen ongoing security efforts across the state.
