APC denies ADC’s claims of forcing civil servants into e-registration

The All Progressives Congress has dismissed claims by the African Democratic Congress that civil servants are being forced to take part in its electronic membership registration exercise. The ruling party described the allegation as false and baseless.

The ADC had alleged that public sector workers in several states were being pressured to register under conditions linked to job security and career progression, a claim it said amounted to economic coercion. The party warned that such actions would violate constitutional rights and undermine the neutrality of the civil service.

Responding, the APC spokesperson, Felix Morka, said the registration exercise is strictly voluntary and open only to Nigerians who freely choose to join the party. He said the process had been extended to February 8 due to high participation nationwide, adding that millions of Nigerians had enrolled since the exercise began.
