Troops of Operation Hadin Kai Joint Task Force have captured and destroyed ISWAP terrorist detention facilities in the Timbuktu Triangle area of Gujba Local Government in Yobe State. The military said the operation marked a significant advance into areas previously considered beyond the reach of security forces.
In a statement from Maiduguri, the Media Information Officer of the Theatre Command, Sani Uba, said the action was carried out under Operation Desert Sanity V, following sustained intelligence-led operations. He said troops uncovered and demolished three detention facilities capable of holding up to 300 captives.
