More than 130 people have been killed in coordinated attacks by gunmen across Kwara, Katsina and Benue states within 48 hours, according to residents and officials. In Kwara State, at least 75 bodies have been buried following an attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area, where bandits reportedly killed close to 100 people, burnt homes, shops and vehicles, and forced residents to flee.
Survivors and community leaders said the attackers, who arrived on motorcycles and were heavily armed, operated for several hours before security forces arrived. Kwara State Police Commissioner, Adekimi Ojo, described the attack as unfortunate and linked it to an ISWAP-affiliated group operating around the Kainji National Park axis, while Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said the assault appeared to be a reprisal against ongoing military operations in the area.
In Katsina State, bandits killed at least 20 people in attacks on Doma A and Doma B communities in Faskari Local Government Area, though police confirmed 13 deaths. The violence followed the collapse of a local peace arrangement, prompting residents to accuse authorities of failing to act on warnings of an impending attack, as security agencies said investigations were ongoing.

State authorities confirmed casualties and said security forces had been deployed to restore order, as the Senate and other leaders renewed calls for stronger military presence and sustained action to curb banditry and protect affected communities.
