Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman has scored his 100th career goal on his debut for Atletico Madrid, helping the Spanish side to a 5-0 victory over Real Betis in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals. The 28-year-old winger found the net in the 37th minute on Thursday night and also provided an assist as Atletico booked a place in the semi-finals.
Lookman, who completed a €35 million move from Atalanta earlier in the week, was handed a starting role by coach Diego Simeone. He scored after a counter-attack, dribbling past two defenders inside the penalty area before firing a low shot past the Betis goalkeeper to give Atletico a 3-0 lead before half-time.

The goal marked Lookman’s 100th in professional football and his third consecutive debut goal, following similar starts at RB Salzburg and Atalanta. Atletico Madrid, who have not won the Copa del Rey in 12 years, will discover their semi-final opponents on Friday.
