The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, says outcomes from the 2026 technical meeting of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four, G-24, will shape access to capital and investment flows. He spoke at a welcome reception for delegates in Abuja, as Nigeria hosts the meeting.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the gathering brings international delegates together for discussions on development finance, debt sustainability and economic growth across emerging economies. Mr Edun said the talks come at a time of tighter global financial conditions and shifting trade dynamics affecting developing countries.

He noted that decisions from the meeting would influence public sector financing and investment flows, which are linked to Nigeria’s reform agenda, infrastructure delivery and job creation. The ministry added that hosting the meeting reflects growing international confidence in Nigeria’s economic direction.
