Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has expressed concern over how some social media users are handling the ‘Holy Spirit Carry Me’ trend. In a post shared on Instagram, she said she feels uncomfortable with captions that turn the phrase into jokes.
Olayode said it is acceptable to pray and ask the Holy Spirit for help, describing it as powerful and meaningful. However, she criticised posts that link the phrase to body features or physical appearance, saying such remarks reduce something sacred to mere entertainment.
She urged Christians to show more reverence, stressing that sacred expressions should not be treated as punchlines for attention online. According to her, faith-based references should be handled with honour and respect.
