The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned customers to protect their financial information by never sharing PINs, passwords, or other sensitive banking details. The warning comes as part of Global Money Week 2026, amid rising reports of fraud targeting bank clients.
The apex bank stressed that even individuals claiming to be bank officials should not be trusted with personal banking information. Customers were advised to stay alert and safeguard their accounts.

Fraudsters often impersonate bank staff through calls, text messages, or emails to trick customers into revealing confidential details. The CBN said vigilance is essential to prevent financial loss.
