FC Barcelona delivered a commanding performance to beat Newcastle United 7‑2 in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie at Camp Nou in Barcelona. The emphatic win secured an 8‑3 aggregate victory and sent Barcelona into the quarterfinals of Europe’s premier club competition.
Barcelona opened the scoring early through Raphinha, and despite Anthony Elanga netting twice for Newcastle, the Spanish side dominated. Marc Bernal, Lamine Yamal, Fermín López, and Robert Lewandowski added goals in the second half to complete the rout.
Newcastle were unable to contain Barcelona’s attacking threats, especially in the second half. The defeat ended their European campaign for the season and marked a rare high‑scoring defeat for the English club in continental competition.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick praised his team’s clinical finishing and said the result reflects their ambitions in the Champions League. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe acknowledged the challenge they faced and said his side will now focus on domestic competitions following their exit.
