Fali Werepe, a Nollywood actress, says she has remained in her husband’s home for more than 44 years, while urging women to be patient in marriage but reject domestic violence.
Speaking in an interview on the Talk To B podcast on 19 March, the 65-year-old, whose birth name is Modupe Johnson, said she has not left the union since getting married. She attributed the longevity of her marriage to family tradition, noting that both her father and grandfather had only one wife.
Werepe said marriage can be challenging, describing it as difficult for many women. She said patience had helped her endure, but stressed that abuse should never be tolerated.

She urged victims of domestic violence to speak out and seek help. The actress also reflected on her career, which began in 1973, recalling that acting was once stigmatised despite her years of experience in the industry.
